I plug this into a Philips 24' ext monitor and nothing I try can get me to duplicate or extend my display. I just get a message on the ext monitor of 'Check Cable. Hi all,
Tried upgrading my Lenovo X1 Carbon Touch from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Technical Preview and it failed big time. After doing the main part of the upgrade and entering my Microsoft account details Windows got stuck on setting up apps for a long time, screen started flickering sporadically and LogonUI.exe kept crashing with the following error:
The instruction at 0x7656645a referenced memory at 0x00000008. The memory could not be written.
Clicking OK to the error message started the screen flickering again and after about 5 seconds the error popped up again. Eventually it got to the lock screen but the LogonUI.exe error kept popping up, and swiping up on the lock screen showed a 'Please wait..' screen which would not complete. Rebooting resulted in the same behaviour.
A video of this behaviour: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=6fa6901c723c258c&id=6FA6901C723C258C%2180105&ithint=video,mp4&authkey=!AGZ6okv3Loumlb4
I eventually had to reset the PC and installed the Windows 10 Technical Preview fresh. It all seems to be working OK now.
Not sure if this is of any benefit to anyone but thought I'd document it in any case.
Cheers,
Isaac
